Our department offers a state-of-the-art teaching environment that gives you the opportunity to learn side-by-side other students who have the same goal as you: envisioning a better future for children, families and communities. Within our department, you will find a number of facilities for your use that will enrich your experience at Missouri State:

Child Development Center

The Child Development Center was opened by Missouri State to provide practicum experiences for child and family development and early childhood education majors.

The Child Development Center can serve up to 88 children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. They are cared for and taught by highly qualified teachers. Practicum students, under the supervision of faculty and staff, complete field experiences at the Child Development Center.

The Curriculum Resource Center in Meyer Library

Curriculum Resource Center

The Curriculum Resource Center is designed specifically as a resource to provide library services and materials to library science and education students. The library also provides access to all government publications from Missouri, the U.S. and the United Nations in the UN Depository.

Greenwood Lab School

The University is fortunate to have Greenwood Laboratory School located on campus. Greenwood, a K-12 laboratory school, provides students in early childhood education with first-hand experiences in observing and working with children.

The technology laboratories located in Hill Hall represent the most recent innovations in instructional technology available for use by early childhood education majors.
