Reading, Foundations, and Technology
The Instructional Media Technology program is housed in the Department of Reading, Foundations, and Technology within the College of Education. The program is designed to accommodate a broad spectrum of professionals who have common interests in the field of technology pertaining to instructional and training strategies. The field of "instructional technology" is designed to include technologies of numerous forms and types including print, projected, audio visual, video, computers and peripherals.
Instructional Technology is defined as a process of integrating these various tools and materials into an instructional design process for the systematic use of technology.
Program options include: (1) Instructional technologists who are interested in being building level technology specialists or system wide technology coordinators, (2) Classroom teachers who wish to improve their teaching skills with instructional design and technology, and (3) Professionals who may work in higher education, medical or fields other than certificated K-12 school positions.
