Beginning Teacher Seminars

A series of free seminars are offered yearly to support the needs of beginning teachers. These seminars provide an opportunity for new teachers to experience problem-based learning directly related to pertinent classroom issues. Participation in these seminars may be used to meet the Initial Professional Certificate (IPC) state certification requirement for working with university personnel in a beginning teacher assistance program.

Dates: Seminars are offered once a month, from September through April, excluding December.

Time: The seminars are offered at times convenient for educators, typically from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Where: The seminars are offered at five different locations throughout the 24 county region. Sites include:

  • Missouri State Springfield Campus - Hill Hall Room #308
  • MSU Mountain Grove Campus - Faurot Building Room #205
  • MSU West Plains Campus - WLTC Room #213
  • Missouri Southern State University Campus in Joplin - Webster Building Room #114
  • Lebanon at the Nelson Education Center Room #3
