The Teacher Certification Office assists students who have earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and desire to obtain an initial teaching certificate. Our office will develop an Individualized Program of Study identifying the necessary courses to take for students to become certified in their chosen field. Currently Missouri State offers over 30 different certification programs at either the Post Baccalaurate (non-degre seeking) or Graduate level. Alternative Certification Programs approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) are available in several areas, and most programs can be completed in the evenings and summers. Our Visually Impaired Program (VIP) is currently the only program offered completely online.
