Minutes
Dean’s Parent Advisory Committee Meeting
March 19, 2002
Members present:
David Brown, Myra
Miller, Bill Agnew, Sarah Muegge, Dave Meinert, Stephanie Grevillius
- Myra
Miller updated everyone on the summer school plan. She passed out post cards and brochures
that are to be distributed within the next two weeks to parents and area
schools. At this time, she has two
teaching slots to fill. She briefly
discussed her visit to the University
of Chicago lab
school. She gave David B. a stack
of materials related to the school to keep in the office for anyone
interested.
- Bill
Agnew updated on the strategic planning process. He outlined the schedule of meetings for
the remainder of the semester.
There will be three more meetings of parents, et.
al related to three major goals:
Relative to Collaboration with the Missouri State Community; Relative to the
Education of Youth; and Relative to Collaboration with other Missouri
Educational Institutions. These
meetings will be scheduled throughout April.
- There
was some discussion as to the pre K program being feasible due to space
issues at Greenwood. It was brought up because language in
the strategic plan contains “pre K” connotations. Bill explained that this language can be
part of the discussions in the plan, but of course, space would be a major
factor in its return to the school.
This was a short meeting, as Faculty Advisory Committee
ran over time.
