SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR COE FACULTY AND STAFF

Two funds are established in conjunction with the One-room Schoolhouse project.

Schoolhouse Project Fund
This fund is for completion and maintenance of the schoolhouse. Gifts may be gifts-in-kind (such as lumber, school desks, slates, photographs) and cash gifts.

Schoolhouse Scholarship
When funded, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a COE student in one of the departments by rotation; that is, one year an STE student will receive the scholarship, the next a student from Counseling will receive it, the next a student in Ed. Ad. The scholarship will be presented in a ceremony at the one-room schoolhouse each year.

Challenge
If COE faculty, staff, alumni, and friends contribute together a total of $8,000 to this fund, Dean Hough will contribute the remaining $2,000 to make this an endowed scholarship. Gifts may be made via check or payroll deduction; a payroll deduction of $10/month for 12 months by 67 people would complete the challenge by November 2005 and allow the scholarship to be awarded for the first time for school year 2006-2007. As soon as contributions reach the endowment level, earnings will be available for awarding the scholarship. You decide.
