Advising

Students in ECE will obtain an advisor from the Professional Education Advisement Center in Hill Hall 202, (417) 836-5429.  Students majoring in CFD who do not have an advisor should contact the department office at 621 E. Elm, (417) 836-3262.

Liability Insurance

Beginning in the Summer 2005, all ECE majors will be required to show proof of liability insurance for any class you will be enrolled in where you will work with children. (The information will be reviewed by the instructor of the class.) Most liability insurance policies last for one year so you will need to continually maintain this insurance while enrolled in coursework.

You have options as to where you can obtain your liability insurance. If you already are an NAEYC member, you may add this insurance. Your private insurance company may provide professional liability insurance or you may obtain this insurance from MSTA or MNEA. See links below regarding the obtaining of this insurance.
