Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education program prepares students to be teachers of young children.  Successful completion of the degree will provide the students with Missouri teaching certification (birth-grade three).  Students will take a variety of courses in professional education to prepare them for completion of their degree.  Students participate in field experiences with different age groups culminating in student teaching. The majority of students in the Early Childhood Education program are seeking employment in the public school system.

There is a selective admission procedure for Early Childhood Education.  Students will get information for applying for admission while enrolled in ELE 302.   Additional information can be obtained from the Professional Education Advisement Office.

Students wanting advisement assistance should contact the Professional Education Advisement Office in Hill Hall 202 by calling (417) 836-5429.
