Dr. Brown

Dr. Brown received his Bachelor degree in Political Science from the University of Kansas. He then completed Masters degrees at Emporia State University and Miami University. Continuing his education, Dr. Brown earned a Doctorate in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University.

 

Dr. Brown’s career has included positions such as the Coordinator, and then Director of Residence Life at Indiana University. He was also the Assistant Dean of Education Student Services at Indiana University and Purdue University at Indianapolis. Dr. Brown then became the Assistant Dean of University Division, followed by the Associate Dean of Students, both at Indiana University.

 

Dr. Brown is a member of both the ACPA and the NASPA. In 1994, his work, Debunking the Myths: Stories about African American College Students, was published. Unleashing Suppressed Voices on College Campuses: Diversity Issues in Higher Education, another work by Dr. Brown, was published in 2007. His academic interests include organizational theory, culture/student subcultures, and underrepresented students. Dr. Brown also enjoys movies, basketball, and college football and has a personal interest in reading, political science, and current events.

  

   


 

Doman

Dr. Doman received his Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Emporia State University. He continued his education by completing his Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling at Kansas State University and then earned a Doctorate in Counseling from Kansas State University.

 

Dr. Doman has previously worked as the Vice President for Student Services and Director of Athletics at Arkansas Tech University as well as Director of Counseling Services at Missouri Southern State College. Dr. Doman was previously the Associate Dean of Students and Assistant VP of Student Affairs at Southwest Missouri State University before assuming the position as Dean of Students and then VP for Student Affairs here at Missouri State University.

 

Dr. Doman is a member of the NASPA and ACPA; his academic interest involves Student Success initiatives in Higher Education. Dr. Doman also enjoys golfing, his grandkids, and volunteer work.

 

Dr. Doman was selected as the award recipient for the James J. Rhatigan Outstanding Dean Award. The award was presented at the regional NASPA IV-West conference Nov. 9. Only 20 people have received this award to date.

 

The award is presented to a dean who has sustained professional service in the area of student personnel work; high-level competency in administrative skills; merited stature among and support of students, faculty and fellow administrators on his or her campus; innovative response in meeting varied and emerging needs of students; effectiveness in the development of junior staff members; significant contributions to the field through publications; and leadership in community and university affairs.

 


 

 

Baumann

Dr. Baumann received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science/Public Administration from Minnesota State University –Mankato. Soon after, she completed her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in College Student Personnel Administration from James Madison University. Dr. Baumann then earned her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri –Columbia.

 

Dr. Baumann has previous experience working as a Hall Director at the University of Northern Iowa, and also as the Area Coordinator at the University of Nebraska –Kearney.

 

She is a member of the ACPA, NASPA, and ACUHO-I. Dr. Baumann is also a member of the P.E.O. International and has been an executive board member since April 2007. She also enjoys volunteering and attending the theater.

Aripoli

Dr. Aripoli received a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Spanish from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.  He continued his education by completing a Masters Degree in Student Personnel from Indiana University, and then earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Higher and Adult Education from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. 

 

Dr. Aripoli was previously the VP for Student Affairs and brings extensive experience to his current position as Director of Student Affairs Development at Missouri State University.  He began his career as the Associate Director of Student Development at Southwest Minnesota State College, and then became Coordinator of the Federal Student Aid Programs at the University of North Carolina.  Dr. Aripoli’s next position was as Program Coordinator for the Division of Health, Education and Welfare, Public Health Service, Region V.  He later served as Assistant Regional Administrator for the Department of Education in Region V.  He subsequently moved to the University of Nebraska, becoming the Director of Scholarships and Financial Aid and also the Director of High School Relations.  Dr. Aripoli subsequently moved to the University of Arizona, where he held the positions of Assistant Vice President, Associate Vice President and Interim Vice President of Student Affairs before coming to Missouri State University.          

 

Dr. Aripoli is a member of the NASPA and MOCPA.  His academic interests include financing higher education, enrollment management, and student information systems.  He enjoys playing golf and the guitar and serves as a founding director of the Helios Education Foundation and as a board member of the University of South Florida Foundation.
