  • Beginning Summer of 2004, the College of Education established a revised minimum level of students in all courses at the Graduate level.  Additional sections of a course will not be added until the maximum enrollment is met.
  • Graduate students are reminded that they must make contact with their advisor at least once each semester to assist them in their program planning.
  • A reminder that Graduate students can obtain Apple or PC computers at a significant reduction in price through the Missouri State bookstore or via the Missouri State web site.
  • As a reminder, all Graduate students will be required in their EAD 660 internship course to have specific interaction with students/communities of different racial background.  These experiences must be documented in the internship portfolio. This is an effort on the part of the Educational Administration department to further assist students in preparation to work with students/communities of diverse ethnic background.
  • The EAD department is in the process of expanding the Master's Degree and Specialist's Degree programs. Additional sites are being considered starting in the spring semester of 2006. Tentatively, the sites for spring 2006 based on a minimum of 15 students enrolled in each program are as follows: Republic/Willard, Waynesville/Lebanon, and Branson. In the summer or fall of 2006, we are tentatively planning to add Marshfield/Strafford, Ozark/Nixa, and Springfield school districts. Each of the programs will be established with a cohort group. The program will be offered in a school district building. Two graduate classes will be taken each semester. At the Master's degree level, we are developing online courses allowing students to take one online course and one face-to-face course. For more information, please contact your advisor.
  • The EAD department has an active advisory committee representing the major education administration areas.  We welcome yours and their suggestions for continued improvement to meet the needs of graduate students now and in the future. Along with this we are continuing to focus on a quality program that meets the national standards in training school administrators. We are only one of 160 out of 600 universities that train school administrators that meet the national standards.
  • The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has new regulations regarding special education administrator and vocational administrator certification. During this academic year, the department will pursue the governance procedure for a change in our program leading to endorsement in these two areas.
