Building Additions and Renovations!

It’s going to happen!!  Progress is speeding along on the proposed science wing addition.  The “request for qualifications” for an architect to design the two science rooms with laboratories resulted in sixteen excellent proposals.  This had been narrowed to three at press time and the Board of Governors should be approving the final choice at their December meeting.   This means the process begins with input on what the classrooms will include and how they will look and fundraising to add to $1, 100,000 already donated.  The intent is to break ground at the first of summer.    When the bid requests are published they will include a request for bids on the renovation of the existing science rooms and renovation of the locker rooms.  Hopefully, classes will be able to be held in the new rooms in August of 2011.   It is only appropriate that Greenwood should have fantastic science rooms, since Greenwood students are fantastic scientists having won one of the grand prizes, and some years both prizes, at the Ozarks Engineering and Science Fair since 1998!!  Watch us build!
