The Haseltine Library, named in honor of Horace and “Pete” Haseltine, is a branch of the Missouri State University Library system and is located in the Greenwood Laboratory School on the Springfield campus. Its primary clientele are the kindergarten through senior high school students that attend Greenwood Laboratory School. Materials are also available for circulation to Missouri State faculty, staff, and students.
Handicapped access to the building is available through the southeast door on Monroe Street. All other visitors should enter the building through the north doors located on Harrison Street. Visitors entering the building between 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, must obtain a visitor’s pass from the Greenwood Office before entering the library.
The Haseltine Library holdings can be accessed through SWAN, the online catalog. When using SWAN it is possible to view only the Haseltine Library holding by selecting Greenwood. Most of these holdings are designated as elementary or secondary and arranged by Dewey Decimal classification.
The Haseltine Library has one school library media specialist, Dea Borneman, an assistant professor in the Missouri State Library Science department. She is supported by one Library Associate, Rhonda O'Conner, and several student assistants.
The Haseltine Library hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Haseltine Library follows the Missouri State academic calendar and is closed during holidays.
