Richard Ruhe

Ruhe

Richard Ruhe is an excellent and helpful band director/music teacher.  Before coming to Greenwood, he received his Master's Degree in French Horn Performance from Northern Arizona University.   He got his first teaching job in Arizona. After a short period of time, he moved and taught in Henderson, Texas.

Mr. Ruhe began teaching at Greenwood during the 1991-1992 school year.  That year, there were a total of 3 musicians in the high school band (a trombone, a alto saxophone, and a trumpet).  Today, it has blossomed into 111!

On top of teaching band to all grades, K-12, he is also in the Springfield Symphony, where he plays 4th Part French horn.  He has held that position for 6 years.  He additionally is a member of the Missouri Music Educator's Association, Music Educator's National Conference, and the Missouri Bandmaster's Association.

He is also a member of the Chamber Orchestra of the Ozarks, Joplin/Missouri Southern State College Community Orchestra, and the Fort Smith Arkansas Symphony. The students at Greenwood are very privileged to have him as a sophisticated and experienced music role model.
