Mentoring For Success Program

Volunteer through the Literacy Center's Mentoring for Success Program

Would you like to help children? Mentoring for Success provides Missouri State University students the opportunity to help area children develop their competence and character.

  • Mentoring for Success is a program that places Missouri State University students in area schools and agencies, providing individual attention to benefit children who may need assistance in achieving success.
  • Mentors have a choice of working with children who are in preschool, elementary school, middle school, or high school, as well as adult learners.
  • Mentors make a one-semester commitment and give an average of one hour per week to their assigned placement.
  • Mentors assist students with academic tasks, social interactions, and other activities. The attention and assistance provided by the mentor encourages the student's interest and enthusiasm for learning!

If you would like more information, please contact: Kimberly Freeman or W. Roy Roworth at the Missouri State University Literacy Center at (417) 829-5098, or by email at Kimberly14@live.missouristate.edu or wroyroworth@missouristate.edu

One hour of your time each week can make a difference in the life of a child!
