Undergraduate Programs

Major:

• Middle School Education leading to the Bachelor of Science in Education (Certifiable grades 5-9, effective September 1, 1997)

The Department of Reading, Foundations, and Technology offers a program that will certify Missouri State students in Middle School Education.  The state of Missouri has recognized that adolescent students have special needs and this program helps pre-service teachers (and those seeking certification) meet those needs.  The program includes classes on middle school philosophy, interdisciplinary units & other middle school teaching strategies, & middle school curriculum and leads to certification in two content areas (See Undergraduate Catalog for details).
