The Ozarks Partnership Teacher Enhancement Initiative grant is a five-year, "Teacher Quality Enhancement" project funded by the United States Department of Education and sponsored by Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri. 

Grant Objectives:

Enhance the content and pedagogical knowledge of all target K-12 classroom teachers

Strengthen the pedagogical content knowledge of faculty from the four college partners including Arts and Letters, Natural and Applied Sciences, Health and Human Services, and College of Education.

Infuse technology into the rural public school curriculum

Enhance clinical field experiences of pre-service teachers

Upgrade the quality of the mentoring program for beginning teachers

Develop a Master of Arts in Teaching program to attract nontraditional candidates into teaching

Reduce high teacher turnover rate in rural school districts in the Ozarks.
