Missouri Statute 168.400.3, RSMO requires that individuals who teach courses for or provide service/supervision/administration to students in professional education programs have "periodic, direct personal involvement in the public schools."  This involvement may place you in the schools or may occur as you interact with students, teachers or administrators from public schools in other settings (here on campus or elsewhere). As a PEU member, you will be working with future teachers. These interactions are intended to help you stay current with issues and expectations surrounding the schools in which those future teachers will be employed.

Your PEU Five-Year Plan should be a document that outlines the types of interactions with schools (their students, teachers and administrators) you anticipate having over the next five years, to help you stay knowledgeable about current school situations and their students.  For help in completing a five-year plan, click on the sample five-year plan below (listing possible entries as well as instructions of what is expected in each cell, for both faculty and administrators).

Both the PEU five-year plan template and the sample five-year plan are available above as Word documents.  Right click on the link and choose "Save Target As..." to save the document to your own machine.  Browse to the location where you saved the document, double-click to open it, and type into the spaces.  Submit the completed application to the PEC office by mail (Hill 301A) or e-mail (pec@missouristate.edu).
