Fall 2016 Events

  • New Student Festival 2016: Sunday, August 21, 3:00 - 4:30pm, PSU
    This event occurs immediately after the Freshman Convocation. Hundreds of freshmen come by the booths and talk to us about careers in education. (Volunteer: Ed Advisement, Peyton Davis)

  • MSU Day in Monett: Wednesday, September 21, day event, Location TBA
    Missouri State University Alumni Assocociation partners with local alumni, business and community leaders in the Monett, MO area, to enhance visibility of Missouri State as a viable opton for higher education in this community. (Volunteers: Ed Advisement)
  • Fall Showcase 2016: Saturday, Sept 24, 9:30 - 11:30am, PSU 314
    High school students and parents are invited from around Missouri and surrounding states to come for campus tours and opportunities to meet department representatives and faculty about our programs. Attendees are also invited to the afternoon football game (if available). Various Halls are open from 12:30 - 1:00pm for parents and students to view facilities. COE will have a table with information in the PSU 314. (Volunteers: Judy Pickering, Peyton Davis)
  • 2016 Majors Fair: Wednesday, September 28, 9:00 - 3:00pm, PSU Ballroom
    GEP101 instructors require students to attend this event. It is very busy with lots of questions and interest in education programs. (Volunteers: Ed Advisement, Peyton Davis)

  • 2016 Springfield College and Career Fair: Tuesday, October 4, 5:00 - 7:00pm, Oasis Convention Center
    This event will be open to all SPS students as well as surrounding Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas areas. Last year there were approximately 1500 students and parents in attendance. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our programs as well as our newest services...i.e. "CLAW". (Volunteers: Ed Advisement)
  • Annual MSU at OTC Day - Fall 2016, TBA, 10:00- 1:00pm, OTC-ICU
    This event will be available to OTC students interested in programs at MSU. All six colleges will be represented with display materials and handouts. (Volunteers: Ed Advisement)
  • 2016-17 Transfer VIP Days - ( 2016-17 dates TBA)
    Prospective appointments will be scheduled with majors of interest (College Departments)
  • 2016 Kansas City National College Fair (NACAC): Sunday, October 9, 1:00 - 4:00pm, KS City Convention Center.
    Students and families from around the Kansas City area will meet with college representatives and faculty about our programs. (Volunteer: )
  • Homecoming 2016: Friday & Saturday October 14-15, The One Room School House & BearFest Village, respectively.
    The theme for homecoming this year is "Welcome Home". On Saturday, COE will be providing the food and student organizations will be manning tables with fun activities for kids. COE will provide a tent for your comfort. It's lots of fun and we'll need help w/ serving and greeting, so plan to come!. (Volunteers: Peyton Davis, Judy Pickering)
  • 2016 St. Louis National Fair (NACAC): Sunday, October 16, 12:00 - 4:00pm, SLU.
    Students and families from around the St. Louis area will meet with college representatives and faculty about our programs. (Volunteer: )
  • 2016 Chicago Area Admission Reception-Oakbrook, IL: Thursday, October 20.
    Seeking faculty and representatives from Colleges interested in attending. Departing MSU campus 7am on 10/20 and returning 8am on10/21. Overnight stay required. (Volunteer: )

Spring 2017 Events

  • 2017 Graduate College Showcase: TBA, 3:00 -7:00pm, Online
    MSU's Graduate College is offering an opportunity for colleges and departments to showcase their graduate programs through virtual/online option. (Volunteers: )
  • 2017 Presidential Scholarship Interview Day: Saturday, January TBA, PSU 3rd floor Atrium
    The Presidential Scholarship Interview Day is among the most important recruitment events we conduct each year and our matriculation rate for students (even those not offered the scholarship) is very high (67% or higher). Thirty Presidential Scholorships are offered to highly qualified students. To make this event successful, we are counting on help from faculty and staff within our COE. (Volunteers: )
  • 2017 Inclusive Excellence Leadership Scholarship Interview Day: Saturday, February TBA, PSU 3rd floor Atrium
    MSU will host the Inclusive Excellence Leadership Scholarship Interview Day in Plaster Student Union. We will have a representative and booth from our area available for prospective students and parents to answer questions and obtain information about our different majors and opportunities on campus. It's important for MSU and all the Colleges to reach out to all students and we're excited to have this opportunity. (Volunteers: )
  • 2017 University Ambassadors Retreat: Sunday,TBA , PSU West Ballroom
    This event will provide University Ambassador students with information about College of Education programs as well as specific contacts for Secondary programs. (Volunteer: )

    High school students and parents are invited from around Missouri and surrounding states to come for campus tours and opportunities to meet department representatives and faculty about our programs. Hill Hall should be open from 12:30 - 1:00pm for parents and students to view facilities. COE will have a table with information in the PSU atrium. Summer 2016 Events

  • 8th Annual Special Summer Visit Day 2016 - July 22, 12 - 1pm & 3 - 4pm, PSU
    High school students and parents are invited from around the area to visit MSU's campus and to meet department representatives and faculty about our program. Attendees will enjoy refreshments at PSU while visiting with campus representatives. (Volunteers: Judy Pickering, Denise Cunningham, Tami Arthaud, Kim Roam, Rico Brooks)
  • COE at Lebanon - TBA 2016, 10:00 - 4:00pm & MSU/COE at Crowder - These visits will be for education students enrolled or interested in our programs at MSU. COE will be represented by the Education Advising team with advising materials and handouts. (Volunteers: Ed Advisement)
  • Education Advisement at OTC's (EDU 270) education classes: Fall & Spring semesters 2016-17 COE's Advisors present to OTC's EDU 270 classes, which prepares students for a teaching career. Students will get pertinent information about MSU's programs, admit to teacher education requirements and important details to help them transfer smoothly to MSU's education programs. (Volunteers: )
