Recruitment Events

Fall 2012 and Spring 2013(Some dates TBA)

  • New Student Festival 2012: Sunday, August 21nd, 3:00 - 4:30pm, PSU This event occurs immediately after the Freshman Convocation. Hundreds of freshmen come by the booths and talk to us about careers in education.(Volunteer: Juli Panza)

  • Annual MSU at OTC Day - Fall 2012, TBA, 10:00- 1:00pm OTC-ICU This event will be available to OTC students interested in programs at MSU. All six colleges will be represented with display materials and handouts. (Volunteers: Judy Pickering)

  • 2012 Majors Fair: Thursday, September 27th, 9:00 - 3:00pm, PSU Ballroom
    GEP101 instructors require students to attend to help them clarify what they want to do with their lives. It is very busy with lots of questions and interest in education. (Volunteers: Judy Pickering, Juli Panza, Stephanie Marinec)

  • Feria Escolar (College Fair): Wednesday, Event has been canceled. This event will be available to Crowder students interested in programs @ MSU. All six colleges will be represented with materials and handouts. (Volunteer: Judy Pickering)

  • 2012 Springfield College and Career Fair: Tuesday, October 2nd, 4:30 - 7:30pm, University Plaza Convention Center
    This event will be open to all SPS students as well as surrounding Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas areas. Last year there were approximately 1500 students and parents in attendance. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our programs as well as our newest services...i.e. "CLAW" . (Volunteers: Judy Pickering)

  • Fall Showcase 2012: Saturday, October 13, 10:00 - 2:00pm, PSU
    High school students and parents are invited from around Missouri and surrounding states to come for campus tours and opportunities to meet department representatives and faculty about our programs. Attendees are also invited to the afternoon football game. Hill Hall should be open from 1:00 - 2:00pm for parents and students to view facilities. COE will have a table with information in the PSU atrium. (Volunteers: Judy Pickering)

  • 2012 St. Louis National Fair (NACAC): Sun, October 21, 12:00 - 3:00pm (Volunteer: Stephanie Marinec)

  • Homecoming 2012: Oct 26-27th, 10:00am - 1:00pm BearFest Village. The theme for homecoming this year is "TBA". COE will be providing the food and student organizations will be manning tables full of fun kids activities. COE will provide a tent as well for your comfort. It's lots of fun and we'll need help w/ serving and greeting so plan to come!. Contact Judy Pickering for details. Need volunteers to help!

  • 2012 Graduate College Showcase: TBA , 3:00 -7:00pm, PSU Ballroom West
    MSU's Graduate College is offering an opportunity for colleges and departments to showcase their graduate programs. (Volunteers: Judy Pickering)

  • 2013 Multi-Cultural Scholarship Interview Day: Saturday, TBA, PSU3rd floor Atrium.  MSU will be hosting the inaugural Multicultural Scholarship Interview Day in Plaster Student Union this year. We will have a representative and booth from our area available for prospective students and parents to answer questions and obtain information about our different majors and opportunities on campus. It's important for MSU and all the Colleges to reach out to all students and we're excited to have this opportunity. (Volunteers: )

  • 2013 Presidential Scholarship Interview Day: Saturday, TBA, PSU 3rd floor Atrium
    The Presidential Scholarship Interview Day is among the most important recruitment events we conduct each year and our matriculation rate for students (even those not offered the scholarship) is very high (67% or higher). Thirty Presidential Scholorships are offered to highly qualified students. To make this event successful, we are counting on help from faculty and staff within our COE. (Volunteers: Judy Pickering)

  • University Ambassadors Retreat: Sunday,TBA , PSU West Ballroom. This event will provide University Ambassador students with information about MSU's education programs as well as specific contacts for Secondary programs. (Volunteers: Judy Pickering-guest speaker)

  • LLC @ Wood House: Wednesday,  TBA,  Missouri State Universtiy, Woods House
    An informational presentation for LLC (Living Learning Community) students to visit with a COE Advisor(s) about the education programs as well as specific contacts for Secondary programs. (Volunteer: Judy Pickering-guest speaker)

  • Spring Showcase 2013: Saturday, April 20st, 10:00 - 1:00pm, PSU
    High school students and parents are invited from around Missouri and surrounding states to come for campus tours and opportunities to meet department representatives and faculty about our programs. Hill Hall should be open from 1:00 - 1:30pm for parents and students to view facilities. COE will have a table with information in the PSU atrium.   • SPS Run Community Fair: TBA, 10:00-2:00pm, JFK Stadium
    This event is free to all is free to all attendees and will be publicized both internally and externally with local celebrities attending. Big crowds are expected to enjoy this entertaining local event. (Volunteers: TBA)

  • 3nd Annual Special Summer Visit Day 2012 - Friday, July 27th, PSU, Noon - 1pm & 3-4pm. High school students and parents are invited from around the area to visit MSU's campus and to meet department representatives and faculty about our program. Attendees will enjoy refreshments at PSU while visiting with campus representatives.(Volunteers: Judy Pickering, Stephanie Marinec)
