Project STARRS is a federally funded teacher preparation grant. This grant provides financial support for students pursuing a degree in special education. This project also includes a two-year mentorship program that is designed to provide continued support of special education teachers as they enter their first years of teaching within their home communities in the Ozarks. To be eligible, participants must have completed their general education courses and maintained a 3.0 grade point average or higher with a minimum of 265 on the C-Base in all areas to apply. Funded participants will be required to teach in one of the rural southwest region school districts for a minimum of two years for every year that they receive funding.
