A new generation of high technology along with a commitment to providing flexible learning situations has created the need for a new paradigm in classroom design.  The Technology Enhanced Classroom is designed to facilitate and model new trends in educational facilities.

The focus of this laboratory is to provide a facility where:
1. Instructors can utilize the classroom for a variety of formats including seminar, small group instruction, individualized instruction, and technology based instruction.
2. Faculty and students can connect to computers anywhere in the classroom.
3. Any computer user can project his or her work onto a screen for the class to view.
4. Faculty and students can connect a network system from any point in the room.
5. Faculty and students can have eye to eye contact.
6. Resources will be available for faculty and students to access information and utilize organizational tools utilized by the classroom teacher of the 21st century.
7. Provide technical support and training for faculty who will utilize innovative practices.
8. Allow students and faculty the ability to access and retrieve information from remote sources.
9. Allow students and faculty to access live events or "eyewitness" instruction in a classroom.
10. Allow students and faculty to access online experts.
11. Allow students and faculty to move from cross-classroom cooperation to cross-classroom collaboration.
12. Allow students and faculty to utilize text based material, interactive CD-ROM, and laserdisc technology with online resources.
