District Student Teaching Incentives

Below is a list of districts in the state of Missouri that have reported offering incentives to student teachers as of 11/20/2025. Incentives are not guaranteed. Contact the district if you have questions.

Blue Springs R-IV School District
  • Student Teacher Incentive Package
    •  Stipend
      • $5,000 for high needs subjects:
        • 5-9 and 9-12 Math
        • 5-9 and 9-12 Science
        • K-12 Special Education
      • $2,500 for all other areas
    • Mileage reimbursement - $50 per month
    • Praxis reimbursement - $250 upon passing one Praxis exam
    • Consiglio Wellness Center access for basic health needs with a $40 co-payment
    • Signing contract incentives
      • one step advancement on the Certified Salary Schedule
      • $750 instructional materials and supplies stipend
Branson R-IV School District
  • $1,800 stipend to student teach
  • Professional development
  • Start at a second-year teacher's salary after completing student teaching in Branson
Diamond R-IV School District
  • Free breakfast and lunch for all student teachers
  • Professional development training including BIST resources
  • A laptop computer to use while student teaching
Excelsior Springs 40 School District
  • $2,500 for completing student teaching at Excelsior Springs and an additional $2,500 for signing a teaching contract with Excelsior Springs
Grain Valley School District
Independence School District
  • $1,000 upon successful completion of the student teaching program and an additional $3,000 for signing a teaching contract with Independence after graduating
  • Four-day school week
  • Daycare reimbursement of 75% for employees
  • Free access to a wellness center
Jefferson City School District
  • $250 for mileage
  • Professional development opportunities
Marshall School District
  • A salary paid to student teachers while doing their field experience
Moberly School District
  • Mileage reimbursement up to $250 per semester
North Kansas City School District
  • $5,000 stipend per semester, competitive and available to an estimated 50 students per year
North Side Community School District
  • Free breakfast and lunch
  • Sign-on bonuses (curricular planning stipends)
Oak Grove R-VI School District
  • $1,000 per month during student teaching and an additional $1,000 sign-on bonus if a work contract is signed
Orrick R-XI School District
  • $1,000 per month during student teaching (paid September-December or February-May) and an additional $3,000 sign-on bonus paid in August if a work contract is signed
Park Hill School District
  • $5,000 stipend for student teachers
Reeds Spring R-IV School District
  • Reeds Spring Partnership Program:
    • $1,500 travel stipend per semester
    • Lunch provided free of charge
    • Substitute payment for any teaching time spent outside the regular classroom
    • Opportunities for paid tutoring
    • Guaranteed interview for open district positions within certification area
  • Year-long interns who complete their internship in-district and are hired in-district enter the salary schedule at year two.
  • Single-semester student teachers who complete their student teaching experience in-district and are hired in-district are provided a sign-on bonus of $500.
Springfield R-XII School District

  • Student teachers who complete their student teaching experience in-district and are hired in-district start on a higher pay scale.
University Academy, a K–12 public charter school in Kansas City
  • $5,000 stipend
