Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia
The Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and disposition to be successful dyslexia specialists and to improve teaching for students identified as dyslexic or those demonstrating characteristics of dyslexia by understanding how to apply new knowledge and skills to a classroom or intervention setting.
The Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia Program is built upon the latest research and best practices for working with students with dyslexia. Faculty in our dyslexia program have obtained some of the highest levels of training in the dyslexia community and are committed to preparing participants to be able to provide effective instruction and interventions for students needing additional support in this area.
The Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia Program consists of four graduate-level courses (3 credit-hours each), addressing a variety of topics, from literacy and language development, to assessment and identification of students needing dyslexia services. In addition, the program covers instruction and interventions for students identified as dyslexic or those demonstrating characteristics of dyslexia, as well as strategies for working with parents and families.
