The Greenwood Alumni Association proudly presents awards of special recognition to distinguished individuals in four categories. Award recipients are selected annually and honored for their exceptional achievements and loyalty to Greenwood.

The Award of Appreciation recognizes retired or former faculty members of Greenwood for their loyalty and dedication in educating students.

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes alumni of Greenwood, age 50 and younger, for extraordinary achievements in their personal and professional endeavors.

The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes alumni of Greenwood, older than age 50, for extraordinary achievements in their personal and professional endeavors.

The Outstanding Friends of Greenwood Award recognizes friends of Greenwood whose loyalty, energy and involvement have added to the excellence of Greenwood.

Nomination Process

  1. Submit letter(s) of nomination on behalf of the candidate – Include contact information, should we need to make contact for clarification of details. Nomination letters should include the following information:
    1. Name of nominated alumna/alumnus
    2. Relationship with nominee (i.e. colleague, former student, business associate, personal acquaintance, etc.)
    3. Description or examples of how the nominee has excelled in their chosen field/profession or exemplifies the award description
    4. Career accomplishments, recognition or achievements
    5. Validation that the nominee is a good citizen and contributing member to society
    6. Statement of how the nominee has brought honor to Greenwood Laboratory School
  2. Include a resume’ or professional vita
  3. Include any supporting materials that may be available – i.e. newspaper clippings, magazine articles, news releases, photographs, etc.
  4. Deadline: Provide this information to the address below by June 20.

Selection timeline:
The selection committee is made up of members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Letters of nomination and supporting materials should be submitted by June 20. Final selections will be made in the summer, and announced in print and electronic communications relating to Homecoming. (Nomination materials for individuals not selected in the year they are received will be carried forward for future review by the committee. Updates to these files are welcome and encouraged at any time.)

Awards presentation:
The awards will be presented at the annual Homecoming Brunch and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, September 29, 2012.
