Hi. This is Seoyeon "Karin" Shin from South Korea. I came to Greenwood Laboratory School as a 10th grader in 2019 and graduated this year (2022). Before I came to this school, I had never lived in a different country, and I was not very good at English. It was my first experience to take some classes in English at this school, but at first, I could not understand what the teacher was saying. There is a subject called "International English Grammar" for the international students, and Mr. Tate, who is the teacher of that subject, helped me a lot. If I don't understand other teachers' and have some questions, I always asked Mr. Tate. He gently answered my questions and gave me feedback on grammar errors or formats of essay. Not only Mr. Tate, but all the other teachers were kind enough to let me know when I asked questions, so I was able to do everything well. The number of students per grade is small, so I think communication with the teacher is smooth. In Greenwood Laboratory School’s high school, the students do "exhibitions" once in each grade, and they write essays and do presentations. I think these courses are a lot of practice and prepared us well before going to college. I am happy to be able to improve my English skills and graduate with a high GPA while attending Greenwood for three years, and it was an honor to meet good teachers and friends. I think Greenwood is a good school for international students. Thank you.

I came to Greenwood my sophomore year, but my favorite Greenwood year actually started my senior year, in the last year I actually started discovering activities and being part of Greenwood, I joined the school basketball team and golf team, really learned a lot from it, and had fun with it, wish I could spend more time in Greenwood with all the students, teachers and staff members, I not only learned knowledge, but also learned lessons of how to be a good person.
