Creating a DESE "Educator Certification System" Profile

Education students enrolled in a course which requires a practicum of more than 30 clock hours must create a profile on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) website. The purpose of the profile is to create an account with DESE in order for all certification information to be viewed/tracked throughout the teaching career. This profile is also necessary to verify FBI fingerprinting clearance through DESE. Application for a substitute certificate or initial professional certificate (IPC) is also accessed from the DESE profile. There are sections in the profile that list all current certifications and fingerprinting information.

NOTE: For best results, use Internet Explorer to create the profile
