Why study early childhood education at Missouri State?

Post-graduate options

A master's degree in early childhood special education will allow you to provide special education services to young children. 

Earn your teaching certificate

Upon graduating you will have earned Missouri certification to teach from birth through grade 3. Our program is the only program in the state that houses both early childhood education and family development in the same department. This highly competitive program will prepare you to successfully teach young children. 

Recognized in Missouri and nationally

Our program is approved by the Missouri State Board of Education and accredited by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.

Careers and Outcomes

Upon graduation, you’ll be well-prepared, having earned the Missouri teaching certificate, which certifies you to teach children from birth through grade 3.
