Become an expert in a content area
Undergraduates in the middle school education program complete programs of study in three general areas. After completing their general education requirements (46-48 hours), students will complete their professional education courses (44 hours) and content area (24 hours).
You can choose one of the following four content areas for teaching certification in grades 5-9:
- Language arts
- Social sciences
Additional hours needed to satisfy the 125-hour Missouri State University baccalaureate degree requirement will be decided upon by the student and the academic advisor, with final approval of the additional hours being granted by the program coordinator and/or the department head.
