Ready to take the next step toward a career in student affairs in higher education? Join us for Graduate Recruitment Day (GRD)—an engaging event designed to give you an inside look at Missouri State’s Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) master’s program.

Whether you attend in person or online, GRD offers the chance to:

  • Connect with other prospective students and future colleagues

  • Discover what sets our scholar-practitioner curriculum apart

  • Preview a required SAHE course and experience our classroom culture

  • Engage with program alumni and learn about life after graduation

  • Participate in interviews for competitive graduate assistantships

11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.  Course Preview: SAE 729 Foundations of Research
12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m.  Lunch with SAHE Alumni
1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.  Graduate Assistantship Interviews 
3:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m. Closing & GRD Debrief

Why should I be a GA?

If you are a full-time student, you are required to have a GA position in student affairs.

You will only be invited to Graduate Recruitment Weekend (GRW) if you are a GA-eligible prospective student and have been approved by the program director. 

This work experience will help expand your résumés and prepare you for continued education or career advancement.

Prepare your résumé

Be sure to bring your résumé to Graduate Recruitment Weekend.

GA supervisors look for résumés that show students are experienced in administration.

This could include:

  • Leadership position in a student organization
  • Part-time work in an institutional office, such as:
    • Academic Advising
    • Admissions
    • Housing/Residence Life
    • International Student Services
    • Orientation
    • Student Financial Aid

Graduate assistants will serve as junior partners to mid-level and senior staff.
