Graduate Assistantships

Save money, prepare for your career
A graduate assistantship (GA) is a beneficial experience where you get to train in your field and pursue student affairs on a full-time basis.
You'll also lower the cost of your eduation by earning a tuition fee waiver and a stipend.
What is a graduate assistantship?
It's an opportunity to learn about your career field by working alongside student affairs faculty members.
To be admitted into the student affairs in higher education program, you will need to have a graduate assistantship (GA) postion or a full-time position in student affairs.
There are a number of GA positions available for student affairs students, mostly in Missouri State's Division of Student Affairs. GAs are selected through a competitive process. Those who are selected will receive both a tuition (and fees) waiver, a monthly stipend and discounts at the bookstore.
Individuals who are employed on campus will not be eligible for a GA position.
Get started as a GA
As you apply: Keep this in mind
On your GA application, you can list three preference areas where you'd like to gain experience.
Residence hall graduate assistants are paid a slightly higher rate and receive a housing and meal plan.
Please note: The application process for a graduate assistantship is separate from the application for program enrollment.
Prospective students' applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
