Graduate assistantships:

The SAHE Program requires admitted students to gain student affairs experience through one of the following options: a graduate assistantship (GA) position, an approved internship, or a full-time professional role in Student Affairs at Missouri State University or another institution of higher education. To qualify for a GA position at MSU, students must have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.00 scale, or a 3.0 average in the last 60 hours of their undergraduate degree.  Full-time students are expected to secure a GA position or internship during their first year in the program. Students securing a graduate assistantship at MSU must do so by July 15 or receive prior program approval before completing internship hours. Graduate assistantships are not guaranteed but are available to students admitted into the program upon completion of a successful interview.  If not attending MSU in person, students will be required to identify and secure an internship site at another institution of higher education, with program approval. Part-time students employed full-time in a student affairs unit may use their current position to meet the program’s experience requirement.
