Current Student Testimonials
What positively surprised me with the program so far is that I have grown as a person more than I ever expected to happen this early. I started my SAHE experience this past summer, as my GA position in New Student and Family Programs had me help plan and operate our orientation programs SOAR and the Ursa Experience. The hands-on experience and knowledge I received as a result of this summer was very transformative. I developed great relationships with students and my colleagues, I gained very beneficial skills, and my passion for student affairs was fueled even further.
Since beginning classes this Fall, I have been been challenged intellectually, personally, and professionally. Graduate school has been a big adjustment for me, but I have been learning an immense amount about the field from excellent professionals and my fellow SAHE students both inside and outside the classroom. Our focus on self-authorship has especially been pushing me to critically think about where I am today as a grad student and what career story I want to write as a future professional. I knew I would love the SAHE program, but I never anticipated how impactful it would be from the very beginning and how much my passion for student affairs would grow.
