The faculty of this department are diverse in their professional backgrounds and have
extensive experiences in counseling, leadership and special education. The common
thread they share is their deep commitment to a world in which children and adults
continually seek opportunities for life-long learning, are confident and assured in
their abilities to have a positive personal impact on the world, and serve as culturally
competent citizens and leaders.
The counseling, leadership and special education faculty bring to the classroom not
only their degrees and experience, but also their professional insights, practical
approaches and enthusiasm of teaching others. Our faculty provide students with solid
understanding of the field, preparing Missouri State graduates for professional excellence.
The counseling, leadership, and special education department is supported by two administrative
assistants who provide valuable service to faculty and students. Marian Green and
Lisa Monkres serve as Administrative Assistants for the Counseling, Leadership and
Special Education Department. Marian is a specialist focusing on budget, scheduling,
human resources, and departmental communications. Lisa is a specialist focusing on
admissions and certification.
