Lead students toward their futures

As a principal of a secondary school (9th-12th grade), you'll set students on track toward graduation and prepare them for the next step in their lives.

You'll be certified to manage school operations and determine programs that will promote student growth and achievement.

What take the secondary option?

  • Prioritize individual and future success – Provide opportunities for students to discover their interests and to take on leadership roles. Promote career and college readiness and help students explore possibilities for their futures.
  • Focus on in-depth, specialized topics – Unlike the broad, fundamental curriculum of elementary schools, you'll prepare students for advanced subjects and special electives.
  • Oversee athletics and extracurricular activities – You can help manage or supervise various sports programs, academic clubs and other student organizations.
  • Enjoy better benefits and pay – Due to these extra responsibilities, many school districts offer a higher salary for high school administrators.
