Services and Programs

Our consultants work very hard to establish relevant and dynamic training and consulting for the 94 school districts and hundreds of educators in the southwest Missouri region. We strive to give districts easily accessible opportunities to expand their knowledge and add to their skills as leaders and educators.

Our programs

The Behavior Consultant (BC) will work with school districts to develop staff capacity with individual and classroom behavior management strategies, data collection and interventions.  The BC will assist in conducting and coordinating Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and in developing Behavior Intervention Plans that address students’ inappropriate behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more academically successful.   

Through the Blindness Skills Specialist Program at Missouri State University, the Blindness Skills Specialist is available to help your teachers modify and design instruction in all subject areas including the expanded core curriculum unique to students who are visually impaired.
Missouri Career Pathways is a Missouri education initiative designed to build career pathways systems for students. We also offer externships for educators to connect them to businesses and industries that will help districts connect students to careers.
In addition to our regular, ongoing training programs and consultant support, we strive to bring in expert guest speakers and trainings to the 94 districts we serve in Southwest Missouri.
MoEdu-SAIL continues to be the online source of professional development materials and resources for Missouri school districts and the statewide system of support.
The ATLL Literacy Team provides support for teachers and administrators looking to develop knowledge and understanding on the most effective practices for teaching students to read at all levels, based on the Science of Reading. In addition, we offer specific training on ways to support students with characteristics of Dyslexia.
Our Mathematics team consults with school districts to provide educators a better understanding of the DESE Mathematics website, Math Hub Material, and helps to implement effective instructional methods, assessments, and activities related to improving academic performance.

 

 

The MELL program is designed to use existing resources to better serve English Learners (ELs) and migrant students. The main purpose of the MELL program is to provide quality services and build capacity in school districts.
The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is a comprehensive research-based program which ensures every student in Missouri will attend school with an effective confident leader by developing, supporting and refining the leadership capacity of all Missouri School principals.
A system of career-spanning, connected, and aligned professional learning opportunities for teachers. This collection of programs spans from Beginning Teacher Assistance to the Regional Teacher of the Year Program, providing differentiated learning for teachers no matter where they are in their teaching journey.

The Missouri Registered Youth Apprenticeship (RYA) program is a statewide collaborative initiative.  They RYA Regional Coordinator will serve all partners in developing successful RYA programs in Missouri’s public school system consistent with local, state, and federal regulations.  The RYA Coordinator’s primary goal will be to help secure registered apprenticeship in all areas of career and technical education (CTE), including the areas of advanced manufacturing, information systems and technology, and construction laborer/tradesman, and other areas as appropriate. 

Schoolwide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SW-PBIS) is a framework for creating safe and orderly learning environments in schools, while improving the social-emotional outcomes for students.

 

The position of Special Education Consultant is funded through a grant awarded by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to the Southwest Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) with support from Missouri State University.
